This will be my first critique on DeviantArt, so please bear with me as I'm not used to this. This is a very beautiful piece, so please do not be discouraged with what I am about to say. I will start off with what I don't like, first.

Proportions.... I feel that her left nostril is a bit too high on her snout. I feel like the left wing should be a bit lower on her body, ever so slightly in comparison to the right one. There are so many effects that the drawing kind of muddles the drawing itself. The middle of the helmet I believe should curl just slightly more to her left, as it seems to not be centered, especially in comparison to the middle line and the left side of her helmet. Her eyes also seem cross-eyed.

Her eyes also seem a bit iffy to me, however the helmet's proportions is what I believe is throwing me off. The sky itself seems a bit too generic and realistic in comparison to your style for Nightmare Moon, and the colors your have chosen don't really compliment her very well. Perhaps darker shades of blue, into a blueish purple. I could imagine that it might be representing her battle with Celestia, however her expression doesn't fit with that idea and rules that out entirely. The background color just doesn't seem to fit. The wings themselves also seem to be like two different wings. Her right wing doesn't seem to match, and seems like a different shape entirely. If it's supposed to be in the same position as the left one, it would be more full and outward, not going inward. It seems as if it's simply to conceal her body.

I also feel that the tips of her wings could've gone a shade darker, to go in between the magic's light and the night itself. The face itself isn't very expressive. The ears, I'm not sure if it's your artstyle or not, but the ears seem too rounded and a bit too thick at the very tip of the ears. Mainly her right ear. The piece of the helmet, on her left, on her neck is a little too close to the center of the neck, and too low in comparison to the right side of her helmet, and her mane blends in a little too much with the rest of the drawing itself.
I understand, the night sky, but it seems almost like it's part of the background itself. Also, the necklace piece seems like it's aimed more toward the camera, not the center of her body. Would perhaps be better if it was angled more to her left. The line above her horn, atop her helmet seems unnecessary as well.

Now for what I do like.

The wings are absolutely beautiful and intricate, some of different lengths, sizes of feathers, and pointing in slightly different directions. It reminds me of a crow's wings, but then perhaps I've been looking at a little too much Princess Tutu fanart recently! The eyes are quite stunning in color, and they pop out fairly well, possibly being the first thing a person would see when they saw this piece.

The way you did Nightmare Moon's stars in her hair is absolutely stunning as well, and it's very rare that you find someone who is able to do it so well. The effects on Nightmare Moon's horn, for her magic, is also wonderful as well. I would have to say, other than the stars in her hair, the magic effects and magic aura on her horn are my favourite parts in this piece. Third place going to the wings, and fourth going to the eyes.

The only thing that would be a nice addition to this, in my opinion, would be if you added a few more scattered, tiny, star-like sparkles in her eyes. it would really make them stand out and scream "The night sky" even more-so. I'm also not really sure how I feel about the moon design on the left side of the drawing. it seems to conceal more than add to any of it. Perhaps if it were smaller, and curved on the magic's light instead, it would fit more, if you really wanted to incorporate it into the drawing itself.

Beautiful work!
